The Ancient China Shang Dynasty is officially the first dynasty to have ever ruled China. The Shangs ruled China from 1766 to 1050 BC. Like the Hsias, the Shangs were also considered mythical. However, their presence was confirmed in 1920 when some Chinese pharmacists were found selling bones that were traced to Anyang, which was the last capital of the Shangs.

Ancient China Shang dynasty has a significant role as it heralded the Bronze Age in China. The Shangs began production of bronze vessels and weapons. Also, it was the Shang dynasty that started the process of writing and started keeping written records.
